Yup, if you are going to carry this pistol the flush mag is a must. The extended mag digs into your body and is quite uncomfortable when carrying inside waste band. I only changed one of my mags and left the others intact to retain the additional round lost when going flush.

A couple things to consider are that the base plates are welded and you lose a round of capacity so Logman mags only hold 8 rounds. The work he does is very nice and clean, definitely no hack job.

I am a congenital 1911 guy. I very much wanted an EMP in .40 for carry but it wasn't on The Roster. I don't do 9mm* but if I did I was told at the time "good luck finding one". Those of you with 9mm EMPs are winning.

I prefer .45 ACP and have two Gov't-sized Loaded models, so for a diminutive carry piece I went with a Kimber Ultra CDP II. It's mags are standard Officers' size (to fit the shorter grip frame), are flush fit and hold 7 rounds of .45 auto.

I haven't put the EMP and the Ultra CDP II side by side but I think the profile is the same size with the width being narrower for the EMP...


*yet I plink with variations on .357 caliber rimmed cartridges and use .357 Mag in lever carbines
