Glock Reassembly issue

Recently purchased a Glock 20 and was cleaning it for the first time. Came apart fine once I got the trick to it. I reassembled everything in the slide and the trigger is locked back but I cannot get the slide back on. It goes back until the last millimeter and wont lock into place. The recoil spring seems free, but something is blocking the slide from getting back that last little bit on the frame.

Any ideas? I feel dumb not being able to figure it out. I have taken my various HKs and Sigs apart numberous times, but this is the first time with the Glock so I have no reference if anything is off/bent. I can post pictures if they would help.

Thank you for the detailed response! I did not take any out or apart, just the barrel and the spring. I did have the slide on without the rear rails engaged but it slide right back off. I have attached pictures to see if there is anything I am obviously missing.

Does the striker (firing pin) safety plunger move up and down freely?

Sometimes if the recoil spring isn't centered on the barrel lug you will have problems getting the slide on.

The only thing I can think is that I bent something when I had the slide on incorrectly. The gun "feels" like it is going back together but whatever it is running into is completely solid feeling right as the slide is nearly even with the frame.

Don't reset the trigger. That's not the way the Glock was designed to be put back together.

The problem is that the firing pin block (little round silver button looking thing in the bottom of the slide near the breech face) is hitting the trigger bar. You need to get the FPB to be held down. It's easy to do.

All you have to do is point the reassembled slide muzzle down. Push in on the firing pin block. The pin moves forward and will hold the firing pin block in. Put on the slide. Profit.

reset the trigger, by pushing forward on the firing pin safety plunger depressor on the trigger bar (aka the hump). That was in the way and it gets lowered as the trigger is returned forward.

I know that the gun is back together. But that ejector looks bent to ****. Could be camera angle though

It is supposed to look that way. Different Glocks have different ejectors (bends)
