I think you're going to find opinions across the board as usual here. I love mine and it's the only Springfield I've owned that hasn't been sold. The only issue I had with mine was during the first 500 rounds or so it would fail to return to battery because it was fit so tight. I've had it now for 3-4 years and it runs like a champ.

I haven't had the ejector problems that are inherent with the EMP but if and when I do, I know Springfield will take care of it. My only gripe with the gun would be the sights, the silver ringed Novak's that SA loves to use are a ***** for my aging eyes to pick up quickly.

Really like the Harrison carry grips and I've picked up 5 Logman flush cut mags that are nice and clean looking.

I Iove mine as well. I did have extractor issue which springfield fix promptly. I've taken it through many classes and I probably have around 5k rounds. I did notice that I had to clean it every 1k rounds to make it run flawlessly.

Mine has been back to Springfield twice now
Once to have the ejector "drilled and pinned"
It was finicky with hollow points. so...
Went back again to "recut barrel ramp", "polish barrel ramp", and "adjusted extractor"
HK guys laugh, and claim that is the standard line for "I don't know what's wrong" lol.
Needless to say, I carry the HK, although the EMP is on my permit.
The EMP is a fun, accurate, pistol at the range, with ball ammo.

Love mine. I bought it used and had a few problems with it but after all new springs and a little polishing here and there it's now my favorite double tap machine.

Mine for the first 250-ish rounds was very picky. It also hated my reloads that all my other pistols eat like candy until I started seating the bullet a little deeper. I never sent it back to Springfield as after the first 500 it runs most rounds just fine. It is a fun range toy, but that is all she is for me.
I think there are a lot of better guns for CCW out there, but as a fun gun it definitely fits the bill.

On a side note, most of the parts on it are unique to this pistol so fixing it yourself or upgrading (like a standard 1911) is not really an option.

Mine has been awesome since day one. I only have about 500 rounds thru it, but it has been 100% reliable and is insanely accurate. Only thing I changed on it was adding some black G10 starburst style grips.

Mine works fine after one trip back under warranty. The thump safety sticks in my side occasionally for ccw use. Great ccp pistol for idpa.

I have had two of them. Put 500rds +/- through the first one when a customer wanted one. It was at the height of the panic a couple years back and I couldn't get him one so I sold him mine. That one is his daily carry piece and no issues.

I liked that pistol so much that a couple years later I got another one for myself. This one has also functioned without any issues and is one of my daily carry pieces.

There have been sporadic reported issues but a quick trip back to Springfield for some fine tuning has solved those. Their customer service is second to none.

I've had one for about 18 months. Love the size as its my primary carry gun. I had issues with light primer strikes about 6 months ago. Sent it back to SA and it's been flawless since. It shoots just like my 5" 9mm 1911s that I use for ESP division in IDPA.
