The P232 in stainless is on the CA Roster.

It's not a bad little gun, but supposedly has more felt recoil than other comparable .380 handguns. I haven't felt a marked difference between a Walther PPK and sig P230/2 in .380.

I've seen them range from $600-800, so somewhere in there should be your ballpark. Used ones come up on the Marketplace here every once in a while for much less.

        My $.02...

Better trigger than the other .380 options, and less bite than the PPK/S. It's a nice little gun. They're not cheap, but I think they're worth the extra cash.

IMHO, the SIG Sauer P232 SL and the Beretta 85 are the top dawg .380 in the CA Roster.

It is the best blowback .380 on the market IMO. Prone to limpwristing however, but reliable.

                  The 232 is a great .380.

i own a sig p230 in stainless; west german. that being said, sig makes a great 380. all of the sig 380s are good little guns. it must be noted though that they do not have the utter reliability of the larger caliber sigs; if cleaned after shooting [should be done anyway] they are good to go. a dirty one will be found to be unpredictable. there will always be a gun that is the exception to the rule, but keep the gun clean. also, it is easy to get your thumb bit by the slide if gun not held appropriately; thumb down please. all in all, the gun is high quality and it is the smallest gun that sigarms has put out. the p232 has the same cautions attached to it as the p230. good luck.

Wife has a stainless P230 that she is very fond off. Good pistols.

The Sig P232 is a fine little pistol. Pretty, too. Almost caved in and bought one, but I couldn't do it for the price. Times are tough. So, I bought Bersa Thunder 380 in satin nickel finish and am very happy with it (and now considering getting the 9 UC). If I pay good money for a Sig, it will be for a 9mm or higher caliber. That being said, if you can find the 232 used, and it looks and feels great---buy it!

Beretta 84/85 Cheetah is also a kick-*** pistol. Again, expensive like Sig for a 380, though.

turners in pasadena has a used w german p230 blue in stock on consignment, according to their internet ad; i believe it is $549.00. the blue p230 is actually more difficult to find then the stainless and is lighter; i own a stainless and if finances were right i would check it out. i believe it comes with original box and manual. the price is big for a 380 but if it is as advertised maybe not so much after all....

I've had a blued German P230 for several years. It's bigger than a lot of .380 autos but for my money it's still the best there is. I carried it as a BUG inside my body armor for the last couple of years I was on the job and having done that, I wished it was stainless after a couple of summer days.

Thieves are the lowest form of life out there, except for liberal politicians, of course, but that's redundant.
