RUGER SP101 hammer replacement

Is it possible to replace the regular hammer on a Ruger SP101 with the bobbed version..? Are they interchangeable..?

Yes and yes. But they are hard to find and Ruger will not sell one to you. You can always use Dremel to bob it if all else fail.

If you do bob it yourself make sure you test it out with all sorts of factory loads. If you have a friend that reloads have him prime a case using magnum small rifle primer. If the gun sets that off it will set off any type of pistol primers except a dud of course.
