There's one, called ocgunsmith.com in Orange County but I don't know them, I'm located in Upland California and I can do the job, here's my 1911 custom work.

Do not use Bolsa. I've had good luck with Elite Firearms for basic gunsmithing work.

I can also recommend Applied Kinetics in Fullerton. They've done work on both of my dad's and my 1911s.

Stay away from OC Gunsmith. This self proclaimed "master gunsmith" milled my 1911 front dovetail so loose the sight falls out.

In the early 80'si had a gun built by Ed Brown himself. It was the biggest pile of crap I've ever seen. I wanted a long time for it, and spent a lot.

I ended up taking it to Chuck Rodgers, and having him redo it.

The best thing about Ed Brown guns these days, is Ed himself isn't building them any more.

He ruined my kimber installing a heinie sight for me, ruined the sight too hammering on it like a gorilla.

                        Agree, stay away.

I recommend this gentleman. I would avoid any in the Laguna Hills area

I learned the hardway and paid twice for the same work. One time to have it done, the next time to fix EVERYTHING that was done.

Yeah, had him install a thumb safety and grip safety on a colt 1911 commander. Did a good job but left an idiot mark on the frame. Never went back.
