Anyone know if the Ruger LCR will make the list?

I've recently been endowed with basic rights by the State of Utah and in preparation for an out-of-state journey I'm searching for a carry piece.

I prefer wheels to pistols, so I was scouring the offering's from S&W before - on a whim - checking out Ruger's website.

I'm in love! I seem to recall new semi-autos have had troubles making it onto the list due to the LCI requirement, but how about this piece?

I know the folks at Ruger are really the right people to ask, but figure I might get someone "in the know" to respond here before my inquiry to Ruger is answered.

Dunno. Revolvers are easier to get approved than pistols, so maybe in 6 months?

I heard that it will in fact be listed soon!

(2 weeks seems to be the magic number, LOL)

how do they work? I am thinking about a smallish revolver and most S&W are pretty pricey. I'm just no 100% on the idea of polymer parts on a revolver and SW has the 637 for about 600 MSRP.

I am sure it will be listed, I don't believe it needs a LCI on it as it's a revolver.

            FYI,

The Ruger LCR made the approval list on 05/30/2009 and there are some that have showed up in CA. I pick mine up in 7 days and counting.

let us know what you think of it when you get the chance to shoot it.

That doesn't mean non-leo's can buy them.

Why not? Does Gun World only sell to LEO?

I doubt the LCP will make the list. There is no magazine disconnect or loaded chamber indicator, or firing pin cocked indicator, which is a MUST for any new handgun summitted. This went into effect Jan 1 of 2007 I believe. After that date all handguns must have those features.

When the LCR first came out, but was not yet CA approved, I saw a few for sale with the "For LE Only" tag on them. I got the feeling that although stores were putting them out for just LE, they were also figuring they'd be approved & were doing a little whetting of our collective appetite.
