    Colt Single Actions

    Hello Calgunners,
My father has decided to retire to South Padre Island in Texas and is emotionally ready to part with his collection of first gen. Colt SAA’s. A couple of them are unfired and most are rare for one reason or another. They were purchased roughly 30 years ago at “Little Johns” auction in Las Vegas. I have attempted to contact John and have given up. I’ve been out of the SAA game for over 25 years myself and concentrated on Pythons and in all the fun shows I’ve been to in the last ten years I’ve not even seen SAA’s of this caliber for sale so I have no earthly idea on pricing. I’m not trying to sell them here without setting a price but I’m sure someone will thread cap me for doing that, I’m looking for someone that has the knowledge to possibly broker these or knows of an auction house that handles antique firearms like these. He also has some really rare Winchester 92’s.

    Short list from memory,
4 5/8” Long flute .45 with one piece mastodon ivory grips with about zero blue left

5 1/2” .357mag with ivory grips. Unfired. Last year of first gen production.

A shirt barrel .32 also looks unfired and a 99% Gun.

A couple of one of a kind Guns with some crazy history too complicated to put here. We are at a loss as to what to do with these but this forum
Has been a wealth of info before so I thought I would try here.

    PM or call or text

Make contact with LSB Auctions in Simi Valley. They sell a lot of Colts including SAAs.

Those are treasures. Are you 100% positive you want to sell them.

Wow man, those look like some real beauties. I would sign up on coltforum.com and ask around. Those guys are hard core for the old SAA.

All they do AFAIK is put them on gunauction.com. No catalogs, not other promotion, no proxibid, no live auction. Not the best way to get too dollar on average IMO than by going to a more well known and established larger place.

You would be surprised at the amount of older monied customers that still prefer to bid in person or on telephone. Hawkgear, I sent you a text but you never replied. You can PM me if you wish.

The SAA forum there has decades of knowledge. That is where I found out about mine. Wish I had the dough to add one of those to my SA collection. Gratuitous pic of mine...
