What I meant was I'd don't know if there is anything against a metal skeleton with polymer overmold. Surely if you removed the skeleton it would destroy the item entirely. I was looking at the aspect of a "plate" can be flattened and and bent. Then overmolded since 3 oz is one thick piece of metal.

Wouldn't this also mean that the frame will be destroyed if DOJ ever needed to verify the weight of the steel plate for compliance? Seems like a lose/lose situation to me.

In other states, why not just buy a factory G43? Is there much cost savings by buying an unfinished frame? Heck, buy one in Walmart parking lot.

Yep. I wonder about an aluminium framed glock knockoff. Still fairly easy to mill. If you can figure out single shot, bolt action (break top action as well??) maybe that might work. But at that point, might as well just find an LEO that is dissatisfied with his G43 and buy it for $2000 in the marketplace ... :|

Yep. True. Though as a fun project, some might want to do it. Like building a model plane or something. But as a practical matter, other-states-ians can buy a safely made, non-exploding handgun instead of us trying to make our own. THanks CA.
