    Korth Mongoose

Does anyone have any of the new Korth revolvers, specifically the Mongoose? I've been thinking of getting one but would really like to handle and shoot it before I have my FFL order one for me. If anybody has one in the Fresno area and would like to meet up at a local range, let me know. I have lots of fun toys I can let you shoot in return. Also, if you own one or have experience but are not local, let me hear your thoughts on it too.

Handled a couple of Korths at SHOT a couple years ago.

Can't possibly afford one, but Do Want.

Nice, but I don't think it's one of their best efforts. Think of these as their "economically priced" models, as they are trying to move into a price range many Americans can afford.

The cheap rubber grip, while functional and comfortable, completely kills it for me.

I took one on trade. I was not impressed. It's better then an off the shelf ruger gp100, but not by much. I have an actual Korth Sport made in the 70's, its not much of a comparison. If you got a run of the mill Smith or SRH and sent it to a gunsmith and spent 2 grand you'd have a gun that smashes it in feel and cool factor.

These pistols are the Daimler experiment for MBZ, they stopped being built to a standard and instead to a price.

Not feeling it. Appears to be a Korth for the masses.

The look is not better then a Smith to me. I mean if I shot it my mind could change but for now it does not look worth my money. OP I hope you find someone with one for you to test.

They're cool no doubt. Handled one once and it felt like a fine wheel gun. It had better...

But the perceived value simply isn't there IMHO compared to a well balance pre-lock smith (which I love the hunt for), a modern performance center offering for a third of the price (TRR8 comes to mind for that "look"), or even a shooter python in the $2500+ category.

I'll tell you what... If I'm spending what these are asking, I want that early Korth blueing, something akin to an early Colt/Smith where you lose yourself in the deep blued mercury-like reflection.
