    p226 legion vs shadow 2

I've shot the stock p226 and a stock cz 75b but not the tricked out ones like the legion and shadow 2. Wanted some opinions before I start to look for one of these.

I did shoot the p226 better.

Side note, what about the p226 x5 vs TSO

Each of the above have their own loyal users and following - they are not apples to apples comparisons - there are pros and cons to each IMO and personal preference for the end user e,g, the X5’s have Gen1 and a Gen2 Enhanced versions which come in many flavors and options vs say a TSO.

Perhaps read up on the specs for each to learn for yourself weight, trigger pull, etc and maybe if you have friends with them you can try them out to ultimately see what’s for you.

Be prepared to pay the CA premium nevertheless...X5 or TSO you won’t got wrong with either

You will get different opinions on both guns. Just get the one that you're comfortable with and fits your hand the best.

        By far bacon is best.

What do you want to do with them? Range toy? Then they are equal. Shoot USPSA the CZ is better. Brag to your friends then I'd take to Legion. Own a cool gun, then the S&W 617 can't be beat.

A Shadow 2 is not tricked out. I've owned 2, there is a lot of improvement to be made in the gun.
If you want change you have to put in your 2 cents, you can't just sit on the sidelines and whine.

I concur. If you want something extra special, get the Shadow 2 and send it off to CGW or CZCustoms... You'll end up with an absolute tack driver with a 7.5lb DA and 3.5lb SA (you can specify less) with a short reset/takeup that'll be able to print 1.5" groups at 25yards....

Other option would be to get a SP01 and get the CGW/CZC stuff done.

Both are great shooters. If you can get the Sig get the single action only. Almost a double stack 1911 a that point. Also the CZ gets so hot after a match in warm weather its almost impossible to hold with those aluminum grips. The Sig looks great but the coating IS going to come off and not look as cool as that CZ. I'm going +1 for the Sig.
The liberal see's the glass as half full and tries to take more.
The conservative see's glass as half empty and tries to keep it that way.
I'm with the people on the side just pouring water in the glass trying to get a drink!

I got both. The SAO Legion is done by Robert Burke, one S2 by David Milam and another by Stuart Wong. The trigger feel is close to each other, but the S2 fits my hand better and is faster to transition from one target to another. The safeties the S2 a hands down winner. The slide racking the Sig hands down because the slide is taller.

For the ultimate feel, use the rubber grips off a CZ SP-01 on a tricked out S2!

Why send it off? Tuning the CZ is actually quite easy. There are several online tutorials and a great thread about tuning the CZ on Brian Enos's forum. The great thing about doing it yourself is you learn the way the gun works. My two plain SP-01 have around a 4.5Lbs DA and 1.8 Lbs SA trigger pulls. I will admit I have to use Federal Primers, but in practice I can use Winchester primers and get 99.99% reliability. Once in a blue moon a Winchester primer doesn't go BOOM.

Having shot the CZ for 3 years in USPSA in the Sacramento area I have never had my gun get hot enough to even notice during a match. I guess if you left it sitting out in the sun on the safe table it might get hot, but wearing on your side in a holster there is not a problem. I've also never heard of another CZ shooter complain their gun gets hot. But hey in the summer it only runs in the high 90's to low 100's in the Sacramento valley.

OP where do you usually shoot? If were local I own both and you can try them out if you'd like as long as time permits.

I honestly can't stand SIG pistols and would take a CZ over one any day of the week. I'd buy an sp01 or TS if given the option. They aren't made like they used to be in West Germany. Also did you see MAC's torture test of the legion 226? A hi-point did better, just sayin.

Come on down to SoCal. During the summers, I've been to matches when it's 110+ and well, there's a reason I've got G2 grips on my Shadow

You know it's hot when the gun gets warm enough to start being uncomfortable to hold in between relays...

                            OP here.

I've always liked the glock 19 size and smaller profile concealed self defense pistols but wanted my own full size 9mm for everything else e.g. range/nightstand/and eventually comps. I don't mind paying a premium/off roster price as i usually pay more for things I like.

I was just wondering since i shoot the stock p226 better than a stock 75b, it would carry over into the legion and shadow 2 or if they are different animals altogether.

                            Thanks for all the advice.

Looks wise, loving the p226 x5>tso>s2>legion.

Here in Tucson in the summer the matches start early but it still gets hot. You will see a few guys with a shower cap over a holstered gun between stages.
