Old question about micro stamping ?

    Borrow from Sticking Posts.
    * What parts of the gun will actually do the microstamping?
    The law says
    Quote:
    (7) Commencing January 1, 2010, for all semiautomatic pistols that
are not already listed on the roster pursuant to Section 12131, it
is not designed and equipped with a microscopic array of characters
that identify the make, model, and serial number of the pistol,
etched or otherwise imprinted in two or more places on the interior
surface or internal working parts of the pistol,
    ...
1/. Does that mean imprint make, model, SN on both side of the frame is enough ?
2/. Please define : interior surface ? internal working parts

you missed the important part. these parts need to make contact with the cartridge to "imprint" that info on every fired round.

...etched or otherwise imprinted in two or more places on the interior surface or internal working parts of the pistol, and that are transferred by imprinting on each cartridge case when the firearm is fired, provided that the Department of Justice certifies that the technology used to create the imprint is available to more than one manufacturer unencumbered by any patent restrictions.

Whoa, did any firearms company do that already ? Those law makers in Sacramento watched too much Harry Potter movies.

Edit: Does that imprint technology exist ?

They're not liberals, they're leftists. Please don't use the former for the latter. Liberals are Locke, Jefferson, Burke, Hayek. Leftists are progressives, Prussian state-socialists, fascists. Liberals stand against the state and unequivocally support liberty. Leftists support state tyranny.

You missed part, Harris enacted it when one person said he got it to work, but that result hasn't been duplicated by anyone as far as I know.
