    Trading between two residents

    Hi guys, quick question.

I have a trade worked out with another member. Even trade, his handgun for mine.

My question is when doing the ppt, do both of us have to provide two proof of CA residency? Or is this only required during the initial purchase?

If we were to take the transfer to the dealer where I originally bought the firearm do I still have to provide both? My situation is that I'm currently unemployed since before Thanksgiving and have no utility bills. Hoping to get back on my feet soon, but in the meantime this trade is mutually beneficial.

You're each performing a transfer, you'll need to provide all materials and identification required by your FFL.

Bring your CA ID, vehicle registration or utility bill, and FSC card.

Yeah, that's the problem. I don't have any utility bills, and I'm currently driving my cousin's car. Only bills I have are credit card and cell phone. Both, do not qualify (in the research I did).

Trying to see if my brother can add me to the internet bill at home (living with him until I can move out again). But I hope the other member can wait.

A rent or lease agreement works too.
It did for my sons last year.
Drivers license and the rent agreement were GTG.

Does it have to be notarized?

No. The FAQ gives an example of a notarized lease, but the CA PC does not mention such a requirement.

You can also get a permit from the forest service, Ham radio license, etc.

There is NO secondary requirement, it is just that for handguns your CA ID/DL is unacceptable for proof of residency. If your CA ID/DL did not have your current address, you would only need one government (federal requirement) document.
