Tanfoglio makes the parts and it's assembled in the Philippines by Armscor.

    They are excellent CZ75 clones.

I think that model (MAPP) has been around for a long time.

I have experienced those clones from RIA, both of the them, the Steel (MAP) and polymer (MAPP). They are awesome for the price.

Weird thing is that in the free part of the US, the Tangfolio is cheaper!

I got both, FS, ms. The frames are the same, just different slides.
          Both use cz75b full-size magazines.
The front sight is fixed, that's the only thing that sucks.
The guns are excellent shooters. Parts are from tanfoglio force( so im told).
So far everyone who has shot it, likes it and wants one.
I haven't had any problems. Shoots straight, looks good, to me, and is an all round excellent gun.
Comes in plastic box, 1 mag, paperwork from tanfoglio, lock, cleaning brush.

interesting. on the RIA website, the pictures of the MAPP even show the word "Tanfoglio" clearly stamped right above the magwell.

Ha, if you look at the pictures on Turners site, the "Tanfoglio" stamp was milled off at the magwell.

So how good is a RIA?

Not as bad as you think; not as good as you expect .

RIA is good to great for the money you pay.

MAPP models (MS&FS) ARE good guns. Double action part is heavy but they are fine in single action operation. As good as or better than Glocks and better ergo like a CZ.
DO A SEARCH, THERE WAS A LONG THREAD ON MAPP FS.

They are rebranded Tanfoglio's. There is nothing RIA about them but the RIA stamp. Last year Armscor/Ria CEO Martin Tuason acquired the rights to sell the Tanfoglios under the Rock Island Armory name. When you purchase one of these pistols you are purchasing a Tanfoglio Witness. Early versions still had the Witness stamp on the grip. They have since been milled off before sending the pistols to dealers. Martin went over this last year on the Rock Island Armory facebook page.

The one on the left is the Cali Rostered RIA GI doublestack. For $200 extra you can order all the parts from Advanced tactical to change it over to the RIA Ultra. RIA parts dropped right in with no fitting. For $700 give or take you have nice doublestack 1911 in .45acp. I use mine for uspsa. shoots really nice.

High Point for $159 - yowza. The Crimson Trace grips cost more! Carry on.

Looks more like a 6 year old scraped it off with a dull butterknife.

How is it listed on the roster EXACTLY? Rock Island 1911 A-2 GI FS (Blue) / Steel?
