Apex trigger in Glock

Hi, I decided to tweak around with my Glock 34 since I have other Glocks I keep stock reliability for duty and HD. I bought the Apex flat trigger and kept my factory trigger assembly to install with it. After the trigger install, I noticed there was no longer a clean break, the trigger became very mushy and the reset became longer. Any ideas or suggestions?

Here's a video, hopefully you can see the longer reset compared to stock. Also can't see it on video but the trigger is much mushier with the Apex, the stock feels much cleaner with a positive break:

What are you trying to get out of the trigger? The Glock is like a Ford Mustang. There are so many aftermarket options for triggers you can put a specific one in for what you need. http://glocktriggers.com/ has different options that are really good. I used the Edge competition trigger and absolutely love it. I have 2 M&Ps with Apex in them and they are totally different. the Apex trigger system is more smooth all the way though the pull with a significantly less prominent wall and more reset. I would not of put an Apex in a Glock. Don't know if that is helpful but I have found that trigger systems are more specific for the use.

Drop the stock parts. Buy the entire Apex assembly (plunger, extractor, connector, etc.). Your problems will be solved.

My recommendation would be the Taran Tactical 3.25 spring kit. Shortens the reset and lowers the pull weight substantially while maintaining reliable ignition for about $45.

I love Apex in my m&P's I have been wanting to try the agency arms trigger though. I have shot the pyramid trigger in a G34 and it's pretty awesome.

Glock trigers have a few parts that impact performance. You can replace the trigger but still have an unclean break until you replace the connector. You replaced the striker spring with the trigger, but then you have light strikes and a mushy reset, until you then also replace the striker with a skeletonized one. Maybe you still get light strikes because your safety disconnect isn't being depressed completely. Etc etc. It takes some time, patience, and research- or pay a skilled aftermarket glock armorer.

I would suggest this. Apex will know the effects of their parts better than anyone. Plus, your question isn't about what's the best aftermarket glock trigger but rather why is the Apex trigger behaving that way.
