Looking for gun refinishers, recs requested

I had a g34 slide cut for optics. After the milling, ceracoat was applied to protect the metal.

I hate the cerakote on it. Its rubbed off at the firing pin and ejection port. Bare metal is showing. Ive also got scratches from holster operation.

I want to get a hard coat on it like Melonite/QPQ, or Nitride. Im not interested in getting it ceratkoted again.

I've seen a few services online but would really appreciate experienced recommendations.

I wonder if Glock would refinish a modified slide? Their rates are pretty good on stock models.

I don't know if they do what you want specifically but these guys are supposed to be the gold standard for refinishing.

Robar NP3 Arizona - I had NP3 applied on my Glock firing components, holds up very well. Customer service was top notch too. Not sure if Matt still works there.

Tech Plate Hard Chrome Anaheim - Hard chrome was applied on my 1911mag guide, no chips or cracks even with my frequent misses.

Cerakote OC Custom - was applied to my slide...which you already have experience with. It really isn't a grear finish in certain areas of the gun. If I could do it over again I would apply it to the frame and firing controls only. The service is top notch though. Paul takes care of all his customers. I wouldn't be surprised if he offers to refinish my slide for me.

My 870 barrel was parkerized. Has high wear spots but retains oil/finish fairly well. I oil it once a year and have not found any rust for the last 3 years. Can't recommend my guy because he only does shotguns.

Not too familiar with the other finishes.

Cerakote is supposed to hold up if applied right. I bet whoever did yours didn't do it right.

I've had good luck with ti nitride and it wasn't super expensive. It was in black not the gold that is fairly common when getting ti nitride done

I believe Grayguns and CCR are both currently running sales. I've had work done by both and they're excellent. Also had NP3 done and very happy with that as well

I've seen the results of what fords does and it's immaculate and the end results are beautiful....Have a couple I'd like to send off one day
