    Kimber K6s experience?

Anyone shot one of these and willing to give some feedback? I've been on a revolver kick lately. I have a S&W 627 PC (5") that's fantastic. I wanted something smaller that I could potentially CCW in another state where I visit family frequently. Was looking at the K6s and it seems like it meets all the criteria I have except one (#6) that I can be flexible on...

    1) Holds 6 or more rounds
    2) Has fixed sights that won't snag
    3) Is small enough for CCW but isn't one of those ultralights that can't handle 357 very well
    4) Has a smooth trigger of 12 lbs or under
    5) Has reasonable aftermarket support for IWB holsters and grips
    6) Is SA and DA

If I'm missing something made by Ruger or S&W I'll take a look. The only thing to really dislike about the Kimber is the price. But I can live with that.

My "plan B" is a S&W 327 pug nose. It's even more expensive and I am concerned about the frame being an aluminum alloy and have heard the titanium (shroud and wheel face) can be damaged by the powder and get pitted. I don't plan to shoot 10,000 rounds with it or anything but you never know. I also doubt the N frame is comfortable for IWB.

    Thanks!

I haven't shot one of the K6's. The only quality snubbie that I know of that has 6 rounds of .357 is the old Colt Magnum Carry or Lawman.

I recently added one to my CCW. It handles 110 gr .38 special Federal Hydra-Shok's well. I'm not fond of .357 magnums in small snubs. The K6S has a smooth non stacking trigger and I like the DAO feature especially for CCW. A little heavier than other options out there but manageable especially with the right holster. It would be too heavy/large for pocket carry for me but is fine aiwb or 4:00. I have 250 rounds through it with no issues so far.

        Have you tried 357 magnum?

Buying a safe and sane firework is like paying a hooker for a hug. I do not see the appeal in it.

Bought one, will pick up and post a range report with a few types of ammo

I really like mine. When I first got it, it would not fire. After sending it back to Kimber it works great. I havent added it to CCW since I worry about reliability, but it is very accuracy, smooth trigger and easy to handle. My go to snub is a scandium j frame and I shoot 357s from time to time and frequently 38s. The Kimber is much easier to shoot as it has the extra weight. I also really like the 6th round.

Hmm, checked them out in the gunstore and they seem really nice. Was tempted to buy one, but as a six shot it seemed just a tad to big for pocket carry (wide cylinder).

The sights were really good, balanced nicely and the trigger is really good on a revolver.

I have not shot one though, would like to. But, a J frame for me is the perfect size/weight combo.

If you can live with only five shots and DA only the S&W pro 640 .357/.38 (no lock) has the best sights I have seen on a revolver to me for defensive shooting. And cheaper than a Kimber, lgs has the Pro 640 for $750.00 new.

Trigger pull is about 12lbs, but with the Apex carry Kit ($25.00 If I remember correctly) it drops the pull down to about 8-9 lbs.

Weighs about 22oz so it is ot an airweight and being a J frame there are a lot of holsters availble. The barrel is a tad bit longer than a snubby, so get a holster with an open bottom or model specific.

                        Just a thought.
