    Great Glock article!!!!👍

The story of theGlock is simply amazing. In the intervening thirty-five years, the Glock has become the dominant handgun in a crowded field of competitors. Despite stiff competition from countries emulating his polymer design, Glock 17 handguns serve with such diverse forces as the British Armed Forces, the Swedish Armed Forces, Indian special forces, the […]

Humm. Glock was a Nazi soldier. "Glock knew nothing about handguns. He had spent two or three days in World War II as a conscript teenager in the Wehrmacht, but that had had no practical benefit for him".

So Glock beat the competition, therefore it's a great gun.

Sig P320 beat the competition recently, so Sigs are now better than Glocks. Oh, and polymer guns were started by HK, not Glock.

Gaston Glock credits his success in handgun design to his lack of knowledge about handguns. That gave him no preconceived notions about what a handgun should be, and allowed him to focus on just a handful of requirements: ease of use, simplicity and reliability.
          IMO highlighted says a lot.

I'm glad it wasn't just another CZ 75 clone. He must have done something right for everyone else to copy his design - especially recent releases from H&K and Sig. Glocks of all brands are pretty damn popular.

I would not go so far as to label Gaston Glock as a "Nazi" soldier. There were more than many in the Wermacht who were Army and not necessarily Nazi sympathizers, fought because of direct orders even to the death, and as a conscript (read that as "draftee") he was probably forced to do his time, as were American conscripts during the Viet Nam "conflict". (I am a USAF Nam Vet and only enlisted in the USAF because my draft lottery number was 37 out of 365 and I did not want to be an Army grunt.)

He was born in 1929 so he would have been no more than 16 years old in 1945 when conscripted.

So just lay off of the Nazi tag.

I think that the OP's link is a fluff piece. Glocks have never had a good trigger out of the box due to the nature of its design.

Big, you can pimp all year long about the Glock qualities, but the grip angle, trigger, and being striker fired with no safety will never fly with old-timers like me (65) and other 1911 guys. You are most definitely entitled to your opinion, but that is all it is, same as mine.

You have a good evening, sir.

Cost is always a concern, sure. I like a lot of different guns, but Glocks are damn good. I love my Walther Glock.

If I was a Glock leg hound. I would feel pretty stroked off right now after
                  reading that article.

The Toyota Corolla is the most popular car.
Glock is the most popular pistol.

Yeah but it isn't like Glock needs any 3rd party fluff. They do fine with their massive Ad budget. But beyond that, a Glock is what it is. Plenty of people HATE HATE HATE Glocks before they spend some time with them... then it turns around quite often. They can stand on their own.

Personally I like those old 1911's... old Mausers + Mosins too. but they are in the combo dial safe and the Glocks are handy. What anyone else likes or keeps handy can be interesting or of no consequence - it is whatever you want. No need to call names or get riled up for the internet though. You like what you like.
