USP 45 Gray

Well, today was a good day. I went to break a JM Pro out of jail and came upon this beauty. BNIB on sale for $800 with 4 mags! OTD $895! I jumped on it right away. HK supposedly did a limited run of 500 from a couple sources that I read.

If anyone is interested, there's one more at Coyote Point Armory in Burlingame.

Great find. That's more than a range toy. Thats a full fledged combat effective firearm. Its not hard to learn DA SA

Technically, the USP can go cocked and locked so you'd almost never use the DA if you didn't want to.

I guess that is great if you like DA/SA triggers.

To me, being able to carry cocked and locked, having second strike capabilities, and not having trigger safety mechanisms on the trigger shoe itself make an HK with DA/SA trigger very desirable.

That is no longer the case.

Back in 2005, HK released a run of USPs (and USPcompacts & MK23s) in "Urban Gray" (Grey), "OD Green" (Green), and "Desert Tan" (FDE). The numbers were 500 of each:

Grey USP Compact (.40)
Grey USP Fullsize (.45)
-Total 1000 in this color-

Green USP Compact (.40)
Green USP Fullsize (.40)
Green USP Tactical
Green USP Fullsize (.45)
-Total 2000 in this color-

FDE USP Compact (.40)
FDE USP Fullsize (.40)
FDE USP Tactical
FDE USP Fullsize (.45)
FDE Mark 23 (.45)
-total of 2500 in this color-

All of these "original run" colored HK USPs will have "AE" date codes (Potentially "AF" for some of the Mark 23s) demonstrating they were produced in "0 - 4" (as in 2004).

HK this past year did a limited (re?)release of the gray framed USPs in 45, identified with the "BH" date code. IIRC, there were 1000 of these.

Thus, the 500 number you quoted was for the original "AE" date code grey framed USPs.

Here are my Green HKs. One day i'll add a Green VP9 and Green HK45 Compact.

Yeah I was a bit skeptical on the 500 piece limit. But I got a very good deal considering each extra mags cost $40-50 and the tax is lower in Burlingame.

Its an HK. In sniper grey and you paid way less than normal! Awesome win. I only have a p30 and one day dream of a usp 45
