    Pricing help

So, I found a S&W 629-1 .44 Mag with 5" barrel Pre-lock model. Looks clean and is located in CA. What is a fair price to offer?

    TIA.

It seems the pre-lock market is heating up (and it was already pretty warm). I've not kept up with revolver prices, especially regarding the 629. But as with many firearms, condition is very important.

As a point of reference, the Standard Catalog of Smith & Wesson, 4th Ed., provides the following guidelines: NIB - $1,000, Excellent - $750, Very Good - $650. Just keep two things in mind: 1.) the 5" barrel will add a little to the price, and 2.) there is always a little California premium.

    Good luck.

Not a bad price considering an Colt Anaconda runs $2500 plus.
