All other parts except for the slide are German made. There were NO 100% German made P239's however very early on Sig did import some German proofed P239's.
The all US made P239's have a U in the serial number... SAU/SBU etc.
Now I'm all confused. My serial starts with SA4, but the barrel is stamped with the circled "P" on the locking lug. Edit:Just a thought, is it possible it started out as a .40s&w but the original owner put in a 357 sig barrel?

I purchased the 239 (357 sig) as an unfired consignment in '08, so timeline is unknown. The slide and barrel was hardchromed by the original owner and fitted with Trijicon ns. At $580 I couldn't pass it up. Just before that I bought his used 220 which is no doubt German made, same hardchrome job and NS. He claimed to have fired 69 rounds through it.

Th .40 and .357 pistols all start with SA-4. You have a German made frame with a US slide like 99.9% of all the 239's made until 2011 or so. The P in the circle indicates that you have the correct German made barrel. the US made barrels do not have any marks.

Over on SigTalk they say the P239 started using 56A0 sometime between 2013 and 2015.
Makes sense. Sig has gone to the number/letter combo for all their other pistols so why not the 239?
Early on Sig just threw in a U for the US made frames (except for the P220 which got the first number/letter)

The German made framed ones certainly did. Not the current US made ones.

It's likely there is no difference between a German or US made frame. It's an awesome little rooty-tooty-point-and-shooty no matter where it's made.

Agreed. The P239 is one of the few models that didn't get molested by Cohen's stupidity.

I misunderstood. Apologies for my comment.
