For those who have the APEX trigger kit in your Shield how do you like it? I've heard good things about it, but it costs about 50% of what the gun did. I have no problem buying it if there's a substantial difference in the trigger, but I also want to make sure I'm not wasting money. Let me know your experience. Thanks.

I bought only the trigger, not the whole kit ~$70
I like the factory sear, the trigger alone improved the pull a lot. I wouldn’t buy the whole kit. -
I have the whole kit with the curved trigger. It's an amazing improvement. I would recommend it. The shield has a decent trigger out of the box for an m&p though, the dcaek really enhances the feels and gets rid of the grittiness.God, Guns & Integrity. Prioritize your Priorities.Comment

Tried one. Noticeable improvement for sure, but made no difference in practical accuracy for me. OEM worked just fine for me at varying distances. Learn to shoot the gun as is before determining if upgrades are necessary.Comment

i did the full apex trigger upgrade and it's been great. trigger is noticeably smoother. worth the money IMO.my Benitez goes to 11Comment

I'm interested in the Apex upgrade as well but for comfort reasons. When I shoot my M&P Shield at the range my finger gets sore pretty quickly. I don't have this issue with my .45 Trophy Match.
I bought my Shield new and at first didn't think I was going to like this pistol. I've now put about 700 rounds through it and I think it's getting broke in and of course I'm improving as well.
I did have Talon grips put on it and I think that was a noticeable improvement in reducing shot groups.
So, for those of you who did the Apex upgrade was there an improvement in comfort?Comment

I will agree that the Talons made a pretty major difference. That slightest bit of additional thickness and grip made the Shield much more shootable.I'm interested in the Apex upgrade as well but for comfort reasons. I tend to agree with this. I use my Shield for a defensive purpose and so far the accuracy has been exceptional. The trigger has smoothed out extremely well for me and the guns intended purpose. I'm sure well over 15,000 rounds has helped that though.
I'm not of the mindset that modifications of a weapon used in self defense will be an issue, but I'm also not willing to fuel that fire. So for me, Shield is as it came from the factory.Comment

Why can't these manufacturers just make their guns with decent triggers? They got everything else right.
Shooting 1k rounds does help them but to spend 1/2 of what you paid for the gun to fix triggers that I would consider a design flaw seems counterproductive.
This applies to rifle triggers too. Some of those run $300 or more.Comment

I personally like the shield trigger itself a lot. Its that damned hinged trigger shoe that I cant stand. If they came from the factory with the same trigger pull but with a glock style trigger shoe I wouldn't mess with itWhy can't these manufacturers just make their guns with decent triggers?
