    Recommended wall safe?

A friend just purchased his first handgun and I'd like your recommendations on wall safes. I figure the locking mechanism should be either biometric or Simplex (push button).

I have a Simplex safe myself, the V-Line Quick-Vault which I'm pretty happy with. But I figured I'd check here to see if there's something comparable that doesn't break the bank.

Thanks in advance for your replies.

Here are a couple of other options:

I looked at wall safes a while back, but decided against them because of the limited security and small size. They can be easily pried open or out of a wall and tend to be shallow. The same can be said for my preferred choice of Handgun Vault, too, so if it works best for your situation, they're a good bet.

I like the idea of a Simplex style lock better than a 12 pad elock, as it's easier to use in a hurry, especially in the dark. Biometric sounds good, but I can't bring myself to trust them, and they cost too much for me to get one to test over time.

Keep us posted on what you go with and how it works out!

I have one that has a 4 number combination. I wish that I would have paid extra for the keypad version...bought it a Dean's Safes in Van Nuys, CA. Actually bought both of my safes there. Good deals...
