    What is a reasonable price for a S&W 686?

I was wondering what a reasonable price for a new, 7-shot 686 is at a SoCal gun shop?

IMO ~$550+ depending how badly you want it.

I've been to about 10 shops up here in Nor-cal. Do you really see prices down there like that (550)? I've seen this model range from 715 to 980! I bought mine for 750. It's my first and I have zero regrets.

Also I am pretty sure the 6 and 7 are priced the same. At least that has been my experience.

            He did say "reasonable".

ETA: I haven't seen any new guns for that price. But I've seen like new consignment ones thereabout.

City Arms, Bullseye, Contra Costa Gun Shop, Livermore, Target Masters, Gun Vault, Walnut Creek Classics. The cheapest was at TM. This all in the last 3 weeks.

I suppose I meant accurate, haha. I haven't seen any under $700 either. I guess I was wondering if that is a fair price since online people seem to say around $550. Maybe $550 a "free state" price, and in CA we can expect to pay more...

Turners in SD had the 686+ for $679 back in January

I always keep my eye for a good S&W revolver and all the 686s and 620s I've all seen here in OC have been $650+

Get an old pre lock for anywhere from $400 ~ $500.

                      I bought a 686 and a 586 for $400 each last year.

                      They're out there.

I picked up my 686 at Turners last year about this time for $ 630 on sale. $ 500 sounds good to me.

Looks like under $700.00 is a good price

I picked up my 686 7 shot, 3 inch barrel, + a Bianchi holster from a fellow Cal-gunner for 525 bucks + transfer fees. Great deal IMO

It'a all about timing. Prices last year or even 3 months ago are NOT what they are today.
