Performance Center 629 vcomp vs Stealth Hunter

Looking at picking up a 44 revolver in early 2018. Anyone know of any Norcal ranges that have any of the performance center 44 revolvers for rent? Any reason I shouldn't be looking at these 2 options?

    Please compare all these six!
    629 V-COMP SKU: 170137
    629 STEALTH HUNTER SKU: 170323
    629 SKU: 170181
    629 COMPETITOR 6" WEIGHTED BARREL SKU: 170320
    629 8.375 SKU: 170334
    629 .44 MAGNUM HUNTER SKU: 170318

I'm thinking two tone Hunter 170318 for scope mounted

I have never seen any S&W performance center revolvers for rent in SoCal.
      Hope NorCal has better luck.

I have a Stealth Hunter in all black with barrel weight and it's great. Heavy with a scope on it and hits the 100yard plate every time.
      I have a V-comp in 45ACP. I prefer a longer barrel.

I looked, and looked, and looked . . for a V-comp last year and could never find the CA version (with the "A" stamp) available anywhere.

          RifleGear sells 170137, S&W 629 V-Comp Revolver 44MAG 4" SS 6rd
Fountain Valley, CA 2 in stock

it should be "629-6 V Comp SKU 170137A / Stainless Steel"
because no memo about "California Single Action"

I imagine they produce and ship in batches. Last year, when they were vaporware, I even contacted S&W and they had no idea when they would be available here. I used those disposable funds for something else, so S&W missed out on that sale.

Of those two, Stealth Hunter. 4 inch barrel is too short in a 44 mag.

I have the 629 SKU: 170181. It shoots pretty well. The performance center triggers are nice and smooth. I don't notice much of a difference between mine and other S&W 44s, other than the trigger. I would really just go with the one that looks the best to you unless weight is an issue.

If I could do it again, I would get the 629 .44 Magnum Hunter SKU: 170318 mostly just because I think that it looks the best. I like the 2 tone color scheme and the milling on the barrel.

Yes +1 Performance Center Trigger is great out-of-box

170181 / 170334 : classic beauty series, nice wood and stainless
                  170137 / 170320 : Machismo, for whom shoots quick
                  170323 / 170318 : Hunter series for long range

                  S&W is great for marketing... I want 170334, 170320, 170318
