    Which 1911 would you choose?

All things considered; price, reputation, ergos, etc...
    SA Professional or NHC GRP?
The price for the Pro is $3,275 otd and the GRP is $2,850 otd.
    BTW, this is riflegear pricing.

I'm assuming you are comparing the railed Pro to the GRP. That's a tough choice between the two.

I'd give the nod to the GRP though, simply because it's a tad cheaper (even after taking into account the increased number of magazines with the Pro).

I've had nothing but problems with Nighthawk. Never owned a Pro, but I love my 2 Baers!

Closer than I thought. I expected the Pro to run away with this. Gotta choose sometime this week. I appreciate your input guys!

Nighthawk all the way. Les Baer guns are too tight. I have seen far too many failures in class from guns the owner claimed were “100% reliable”.

My now 19 year SA experience has been nothing but bad. I forget how terrible SA is and buy one every two or three years. My last eight guns from them have been complete disasters. My only SA gun is an EMP (second one) and SACS fixed it since it wouldn’t feed JHP. It still needs a trigger job, but I do not like it enough to spend $200+ with replacement parts.

Sig Max in .40S&W. Or Springfield Armory in .40S&W.

                          Les Baer or Ed Brown.

                            I've owned them both. Wilson.

That said, of the two, I'd go with the SA Pro. The "lanyard loop" on the GRP is a torture device and its not a drop in fixable item. Please don't believe me. Go try one. Put 50 rounds through it and you'll know what I'm talking about. I bought a NHC main spring housing and attempted to exchange them. No go. The MSH is a custom install item - which means something is going to need to be refinished. $$

The SA will likely have a very tight bushing. Maybe even too tight. A friend had one and so did I. My friend had to send his back to SA to have it tuned. The gun performed flawlessly after that. I never shot mine, so I don't know if it would have had to take a trip back. If so, no giant deal.

Hence my recommendation to get a Wilson. I've had two. Both have been flawless performers.

My experience with NHC's "customer service" has been less than stellar. In fact it plain ole sucked. I had to send my Talon 2 back multiple times and it never was fixed. A $4k paperweight. I won't buy another NHC.

Oh, and FWIW, my Les Baer Thunder Ranch has run flawlessly for about 9500 rounds. My last class was at Gunsite. It never skipped a beat. It's by far my favorite 1911 - and it was the least expensive.
