Thoughts on the Dan Wesson PM7

I'd like to hear fellow CGN'ers who have the PM7
And any range report or long term report would also be appreciated

I bought mine about 10 years ago. Excellent trigger, I like the high profile adjustable rear sights and that the gun is very clean - no "spray paint" finish. The sides are sort of wire scrubbed finish, edges matte. Slide to frame fit is consistently tight, barrel and link proper to the frame. Mine has been very reliable, will do everything from plain old FMJ to lead SWC.

I bought mine about 10 years ago, still have the receipt - $900.00. I mention that only because, seeing what they sell for now, I have to wonder how much is due to DW keeping the PM7 and CBOB line (bought a CBOB same time, same price) alive in CA. They're great guns no doubt. But asking if the value is all "on the screen" with current pricing is reasonable, it seems to me.

I had 2 PM7's that I regret selling (upgraded to Valor & VBOB & CCO). Big fan of DW's. I don't shoot them as much as I'd like, but tight fit, accurate.

I had a PM7 for about 2 years. Great gun, great finish, excellent trigger. Sold it and bought a Les Baer. Only because I like the bluing on 1911’s.

Mine was purchased new this last year and has never failed through about 500 rounds. Very impressive for a new pistol with such tight tolerances.

Love mine. The trigger is 4lbs of smooth butter, slide to frame is tight and the tolerances are about as good as you can get from a production gun. The only thing I wish it had was front strap checkering.

Great gun, very accurate. I had some light galling issues with mine 40rds in(yes I lubed it per the manual). Was able to get some lapping compound and polish it out and it worked flawlessly for 250 rounds before I sold it and bought a valor.

Tough to beat for the $$$. Would be nice if it came with checkering and a fiber optic front sight.

Shot PM7 and CBOB several times, prefer CBOB than PM7, as it shows so much well balanced in my hand.

I worked on one for my buddy (also a calgunner).
It is a nice pistol, well made. After a bit of tuning it was excellent.

I did the checkering on his, undercut the trigger guard and blended the magwell. The barrel needed to be throated and extractor shape and tension adjusted. After than I believe he didn't have any issues.

^^^ This. You would need to spend a lot more to get anything better. Love my CBOB and Heritage.

My PM7 remains BNIB. I bought it because the deal was too good to pass up but I anticipate the same accuracy & reliability as the others.
