    .44 mag with scope

I'm looking for a .44 mag revolver that I can add a scope to for LR target fun. My research so far shows the Super Blackhawk 7 1/2" as the only one advertised as including scope rings. Other models I have looked at don't seem to be configured for scopes. Do I have any other options and how do you guys like the Blackhawk? Also, could I use the same scope on a Single Six Hunter model? It comes with scope rings too.

    Thanks, Mike
Why Johnny Ringo. You look like someone just...walked over your grave.

Its been awhile, but I once had a S&W 629 Classic DX with a 5 1/2" barrel.... It had tapped and threaded holes for scope rings. Not sure if this model is still available.

It was a nice weapon ... should have never sold it.

Not interested in single shots? Thompson Center Contender is an excellent option for your purpose.

Here are some of my sledgehammers (except one on the right - been traded)

The Ruger SBH is one tough revolver. Mine has a 10.5" barrel and I've had that for 20 years now. It is accurate as it is durable, build like a tank.

It's really fun shooting at steel plates pass 100 yards with a handgun, well it's frustrating too when you can't hit the target.

Any Redhawk or Super Redhawk can be easily scoped, even though they don't come with mounts or bases. A quick look at this website will turn up the bases and rings from several different companies:

One brother has a Ruger Redhawk scoped which he has used with success against coyotes, and the other brother dropped a deer at 110 yards with his scoped S&W X frame. The S&W saved deer season for him, as he had a broken wrist and could not use a rifle.

They come with scope rings and don't require mounts or bases, the dovetails are already machined into the gun.

The SRH are machined with dovetails. Some RH aren't.
