    Gen 2 Glock, on roster?

    Apologies if this already exists.

I have searched a bit, on this forum and the interwebs, already.

From my understanding from the CA DOJ roster page where it states.
    --
No Generation 4 Glock handguns have been approved as of: Sunday, October 22, 2017
    --
Does this mean that Gen 2 is on roster? Does this depend on FLL and/or their knowledge of the roster/said laws?

I know that the local FFL that I deal with is familiar with Glocks, and very knowledgeable about weapons in general. I will be contacting them tomorrow 10/23.
But, i figure with the knowledge I have obtained from most of you here that someone could shed some light on this. Thanks.

EDIT: This would be purchased from an individual, and shipped to an FFL

Well considering the gen2 hasn't been produced since 1998 I'm not sure how it could be on the roster. How is a gun shop going to sell a new gun that isn't made anymore haha. The doj roster is essentially a gun ban on new firearms due to the bogus "microstamping" all new handguns must adhere to, along with bogus "testing" of said firearms of different colors etc. I'm actually surprised anything makes it to CA at all. As of right now only black or OD green gen3's are on the roster. If Glock wanted to send an FDE glock gen3 they would have to specifically test that COLOR of gun, even if it's the same model/caliber. So you see the dilemma manufacturers are in when it comes to CA.

And since nobody uses that bogus technology we will never have a new production handgun added as far as my knowledge. But you can buy any handgun through a private party transfer regardless of the roster and legally own it as long as you use 10rnd magazines. But you will pay a "free state" upcharge. For instance I can get a new blue label gen5 glock 19 for ~$400 out the door. That same gun to a non LEO/exempt is going to cost you ~$1200 in CA because of the roster issue. Hope this helps!

I guess I should have stated that this will be bought from someone else, and shipped to FFL.
I understand how PPT works, but this would be shipped to my local FFL.

So you bought a gen2 from someone and you want it shipped to an FFL? That has nothing to do with a roster, it's a PPT. Also if it's a CA resident both must be present with CA ID to to do transfer at said FFL.

Not true, you would not be able to ship it and do the transfer. You would have to do this face to face, if you ship it the roster does apply.

Which is why I said both must be present to do the transfer at an FFL. Should have specified you can't ship off roster unless its intrafamiliar correct?

Apparently, you have zero reading comprehension.
I understand PPT is Face to face, and roster need not apply.
HOWEVER, a handgun purchase being shipped to an FFL, handgun does apply to being on-roster.
I am just asking for clarification about whether or not Gen2 Glock handguns are on the roster.
              READ my first post.
As it is written on the DOJ Ca roster, technically Gen 3 and previous Glock handguns are "on the roster". All I am asking is for clarification. So, if you do not know, do NOT post in my thread. Thank you.

I don't believe that Glock called out Gen 2 or Gen 3 on those models. I think that only the Gen 4 has any different markings on the pistol.
I would suspect that a Gen 2 only says Glock 19 or Glock 22, etc on the slide, same as a Gen 3. If that is the case, there is probably nothing to prevent an out of state transfer.

Because glocks dont have gen on the gun except for gen 4 you should be fine. I bought a gen 2 used from turners a couple of years ago and it was drossed as a glock 19. The only non gen 4s that you cant transfer in are the made in usa glocks. Because its okay to buy an austrian product but not an american product in the peoples republik.

Are you stating that the Gen2 Glock handguns are not on the roster, or just about his statement?

I have not purchased the gun yet, just attempting to figure out the "letter of the law".

Good to know, sounds like everything should be GTG. Thank you for responding. I will contact my FFL in the AM to confirm.

Your question was vague as **** before you edited it. Sorry for trying to help? Maybe you should try some reading comprehension. The roster clearly states no gen4's so doesn't that mean gen1-3 are fine? Hmmm...

Gen 2s are on the roster, that being said I would confirm with your ffl that they would do the transfer. My experience is lots of gun stores have their own interpretations about our great california gun laws.

I am not going to apologize for what I said, as i do not feel like there should be one. But, your original reply did seem to come off a bit snooty.
I did do some searching, and even looked at the DOJ CA roster. I also stated such things. I was asking for clarification.
We all know how all the anti-gun people are. And How the gov't likes to make things confusing/complicated.

Thank you all for your help.

So much FUD in this thread.

OP, you're good to go. Gen 1-3 are on-roster. You will have to pay sales tax on the sale price and whatever the FFL charges for transfer +$25 DROS

Well here is the list... There is no distinction of or mention of a GLOCK 1-3 ONLY Gen 4 or USA Made Glocks are NOT approved.
You can buy a gen 1 2 3 have em shipped into California off Gunbroker or from another site... You can buy them used from your local gun shop they don't have to be PPT.
I'm a fan of the Gen 2 I've had Gen 1's I've purchased both from local gun shops some from PPT as well. Call the DOJ if you are worried they will confirm the above.
