    On roster BBQ guns?

Anyone know of any 1911s on the roster that are BBQ gun style? A friend of mine recently got bit by the gun bug, and he gravitates to that style gun. I want to help feed his addiction.

I don't expect that there will be anything on the roster that is a "true" BBQ gun with fancy engraving, etc. but any chrome or flashy 1911 you'd recommend?

Dan Wesson PM7, Ed Brown, Les Baer, Wilson, Nighthawk.

There are lot's of 1911s to choose from. I would think a having a nice stainless Dan Wesson polished would be good on a lower budget. I would jsut go through the rooster list and check out the various models. http://certguns.doj.ca.gov/safeguns_resp.asp

Heck, on a really low budget there is a Nickel plated RIA in .38 Super that would be perfect.

Laser etching/scratching is Not fancy engraving and that's what is available, buy a gun and get it hand engraved.

To me, this right here is a proper BBQ gun!

This. There's a gray-framed one at one of my LGS's. Perfection. I still have many 1911's that I haven't shot yet so I passed. If it is still there (likely) when we pick up my wife's new snub I may just get it over with and take it.

not a lot. the only gun he has right now is a shield, so anything over $250 is going to feel outrageously expensive to him. lol. i've already prompted him on 1911 pricing. he'd like to stay under $800, which rules out a lot of fancy guns for sure.

i think that's the one! he could add some fancy grips to it and still be well within his budget.

I doubt he's not going to get anything approaching the look of a BBQ gun for $800, by the time he gets a SS 1911, has it polished, and adds grips.
