Anyone knows if the S&W Shield is ok to own inside of Los Angeles County?

Why wouldn't it be? There was a ban on SALES of sub -compacts inside of LA CITY(not county), but even then it was legal to own. That ban has surprisingly been overturned, and you can buy sub-compacts in LA city now.

If it's legal to own in CA, it's legal to own in LA County (and even LA City).

If it's overturned, that's good news.

That was, again, for sale not for own. It's why Turners ads always had "Not available in Reseda" for all sub-compacts, but not anymore.

Call Turner's again and ask. The law changed and they know it. But, like Sagan said, that was only for purchasing, not owning.

Shield is a fantastic pistol.
The only thing I'm not too crazy about is one needs to pull a mini lever inside the chamber to release the slide.
Unlike Glocks and SA that don't require them.
Accuracy could be better but it's expected from a 3" barrel.

No needs to pull the lever if you pull the trigger.

Its a stupid bit of engineering to remove the 'problem' of needing to pull the trigger for a field strip. Everyone I know simply pulls the trigger just like with a glock.

...and of course its not anywhere near the chamber...

Does that pistol come stock from the factory with a magazine disconnect??....If so, is it easy to disable that "feature"?
