    Not illegal.

It may or may not be a problem if you intend to CCW, but there is no law preventing the removal or disabling.

Links can not be provided because the law describes what is prohibited, not what is permitted.

Probably one of the appealing features of Off Roster guns IMO. But... as you mentioned often times that can be removed from a CA model...

        Not illegal

It could potentially increase your liability should a removed safety device be part of the reason why an injury occurred.

Same as if you remove the safety on a coffee grinder so the blade spins with the cover off
Rule 1- ALL GUNS ARE ALWAYS LOADED

Rule 2 -NEVER LET THE MUZZLE COVER ANYTHING YOU ARE NOT PREPARED TO DESTROY (including your hands and legs)

Rule 3 -KEEP YOUR FINGER OFF THE TRIGGER UNTIL YOUR SIGHTS ARE ON THE TARGET

Rule 4 -BE SURE OF YOUR TARGET AND WHAT IS BEYOND IT
        (thanks to Jeff Cooper)
