    Defect on new Glock 17?

Purchased this brand new g17 from LGS for ~3weeks. ~500 rounds through it.

Tonight I took the slide off to clean it up. But failed to reassemble since the ejector in the red circle below bent too much that makes the slides unable to pass. No idea what happened.

What am I supposed to do then? Is it possible to contact glock asking for a return or replace?

    Thanks

[update]: Yea, did some homework online and turns out it is supposed to bent. But the problem now is it bent too much which makes the slides impossible to reassemble (see the 3rd pic below).

If that were straight, brass may start flying towards your forehead.

As stated above, that's normal. It's even more pronounced on a Glock 30. If it makes you feel any better, just search "Glock Disassembly" videos and you'll see.

Honestly that doesn't look that bad. There should be enough play on the slide/frame to force it through. There's not much after the back plate to stop you.

can you remove the back plate to get a better look see as to where exactly its hanging up?

just remember they may be a spring under pressure they may come flying out

also make sure your guide rod/spring are in correctly

That does look normal. Try looking at some you tube videos for more details.

This is not meant to be an insult in anyway but is it possible you're reassembling it incorrectly ?

There are lots of YouTube videos on how to do it right.

Of course I could be 100% wrong on my guess.

It looks exactly how it's supposed to look. They are very rigid and don't generally bend out of spec.

                          Normal. Youtube it.
And for Goodness sakes people, break down and familiarize yourself with your firearm BEFORE you take it out and shoot 500 rounds.
