Big fan of P226, especially legion and mk25. But just cannot live with the stupid LCI. So I'm currently considering to get a P220 EQUINOX instead. But I've heard a few complains about P220's durability. Any thoughts on this? Should I throw ~1.8k for a legion, ~1.5k for a mk25 w/o lci or ~1.1k for a normal p220 equinox on the roster?

I have a non California MK25 as well as 220 compact, German 220 Combat I think the model is and a standard German made 220 - they are all great guns, I think the German 220s have better triggers but other than that all are great guns and hard to go wrong with.

If you can't live with an LCI, then you have to decide if the added cost is worth it for you to get a non-LCI 9mm. You could get a 9mm P239 for a lot less than the 9mm guns you're looking at, but it's a smaller gun. Otherwise, get a P220. It's a great gun. I've never heard about durability issues with the P220, and I've certainly never experienced any durability issues with mine.Anchors Aweigh

The P226 is the quintessential 9mm "wonder nine" service pistol. Combat proven for over 34 years. Pay the $ for a good used off roster no LCI German P226..if you buy it right it will only go up in value. P220's... not so much. I think at last count I had twenty three p226's, not a one with a damned LCI. (you can never have enough of a good thing...

P239 doesn't have kali-stupid but a smaller gun compare to P226 if you don't mind. If you have small hand, it's a good fit. But for those who have medium hands like me, I replaced the factory grips with Hogue grips and it is now comfortable fit.
For the P220, I haven't heard of the problem from the owners here on Calguns. I have full stainless and shoots fine from the first shot.Last edited by Barang; 10-02-2017, 6:09 PM.Comment

find a used P226 or P220 here in the marketplace, no need to pay a premium for the Legion or Mk25.
I have a P226 40, P229 40, P220 45, and P320 9mm... can't go wrong with any of them. It really depends on what the purpose of the gun will be for, HD? plinking? carrying?
A P226 with a SRT trigger is nice...if you really wanted to, send it in to Gray Guns & they'll make it even nicer... yet it will still be cheaper than getting a Legion or Mk25.Comment

The P220 Elite in 10mm have steel frames. The fit and finish is very good like target grade and the reviews point to very good accuracy. The wise man said just find your place

I have heard you can buy a cali, lci P226 version then work directly with sig to purchase a caliber xchange kit and essentially delete the CA features. people say you can then sell the cali slide (not sure who would want to buy it though)
note, I haven't tried this myself - only heard about it.png)

I have a P220 Carry, P226 Scorpion, and P226 MK25. The scorpion is my favorite because of the short reset trigger that makes it shoot like a dream. The fit and finish of the scorpion is also really nice. The P220 carry also feels great and handy, I bought it used and haven't had any issues with it (well over thousands of rounds through it). I love the way my hand grips around the P220 the best. The MK25 was an impulse buy for me, and I have to say it's lost it's allure after a while. I purchased it new on base for $800, once the DROS period was over and I took it home I noticed the phosphate fit and finish made the MK25 look older than my P220. At the range I hardly picked it up because my scorpion just shoots better due to trigger. Since I don't go swimming with my guns the phosphate coating on the MK25 makes it irrelevant for me. I ended up giving the MK25 to my dad because I ended up seeing no use for it.Comment
