    Glock 17 gen 2 compensated

I am purchasing one of these ppt tomorrow. A lot of people online saying the compensator creates excessive noise and muzzle flash. I already have a 26 and 23, had my eye on the 17 for a while to round out the collection. Also, I've never shot the gen 2, only gen 3. How does it compare? Anyone have experience with the compensated models?

Gen 2 is super sweet, especially if its been taken care of.

Remember ... the compensated glock models are really ported barrels and slides. If you don't like it, $100 will get you a drop in non ported replacement barrel. Unless you do actually mean a Glock with a compensator attached to the front of the barrel.

Forget about stopping power. If you can't hit it, you can't stop it.

No. It's the factory c model. Ya, worst case can always drop a new barrel in. Or fill the holes on the old one.

If it is indeed factory ported you might consider an extra non-ported barrel if you plan on firing from the retention position. If you CCW this weapon the reason will become apparent quickly; hot gasses spitting on your neck and face will get your attention. I have used other factory ported Glock models, and have noted the same result.
It is however a quality weapon that is very reliable and should last a long time as it came from the box.

            Congrats OP

Had a gen 2 g19, I don't see a difference to gen 3 other than rail and finish.
Sold it to a close friend he loves it and it is his first gun.
            Shot a gen 2 g17 again same as gen 3 g17.
            I guess it's a good collector gun.
I would rather get a gen 1 or 2 with Austrian markings those look cool.
