    Need holster recommendation

I'm going to start carrying my 1911 at home to see if I like carrying. I'm looking for a leather owb holster in black. A lot of these holsters have a very high carry which I don't like. Please suggest a holster that fits my needs. Something that doesn't ride as high. Are there any? Thanks.

I'm not sure of your style preference but the Bianchi Black Widow may be worth a look. It doesn't ride high and has a snap closure. And it comes in black.

This. The 60TK and 55BN, however, are going to be high ride holsters. There is a balance to be struck here. The higher the holster rides, the easier it is to conceal...but the harder it may be to draw. But start dropping down too low and the holster sticks out from your shirt. Have you thought about Kydex at all? Kydex holsters usually have better adjustability for ride height than leather ones do. Just a thought.

TT Gunleather has some beautiful, very functional stuff and his wait is down to 2 weeks right now (usually 6-8).

              TT Gunleather OWB

I've got, um, several... of his IWB and love them. Including one IWB/OWB convertible for a Glock 29SF that's awesome. Doesn't seem to ride too high on me at all.

Some of his OWB are listed as moderate height, but send him an email and he'll steer you to something that'll work.

Just ordered a belt and a IWB 2 mag holder.

Gun holsters are our passion, whether it's a basic leather holster or a heavy-duty Kydex holster. We also offer magazine carriers and holster accessories.

                    5 Shot Snap Attachment Pancake

I use this one if I'm wearing a long enough covering garment. It doesn't ride too high. I've used many of the suggested above including the Sparks 60TK and 55BN, both of which ride fairly high compared to this one (the 60TK being the highest).

Alessi makes one similar to the 5 Shot called the CQC, which has a similar ride height.

Just wondering why you dont like a high ride... comfort? body type? BTW.. you never defined the relationship between "high" and what you are looking for...

High ride kinda goes with OWB, since its the top of the pistol that is exposed, therefore easier to conceal. I love my High Noon Slide Guard OWB, keeps the slide from hitting your body. Reasonable price, no wait, good quality.

Another vote for TT funleather. Most of Sparks sits higher on belt.
