    Steryr SPP 9mm

Anyone had experience with original Steyr SPP 9mm ( imported I think in 1992-1993) ?

Was it a big movie gun?

Do a search. There was a thread about it some time ago. Consensus was, don't bother.

I had one in the early 1990s. After the first couple of trips to the range, I got tired of it pretty quickly. It wasn't that fun to shoot. And the only part that was fun was the 30 round mags.

It wasn't a big movie gun. Not like the HK MP5/SP89/HK 94.

My understanding is that SPP. is like a current production B&T TP9 .

I am not sure which is a better gun.

They look very similar. The primary difference are the rails. Rails weren't a big thing in the 1990s when the SPP came out.

If you're buying it purely for the looks, I'd get the SPP because the B&T TP9 looks far uglier. In addition, some reviews talk about reliability problems with the B&T.

At least with the SPP, it always went bang.

I could have bought a used one at Turners Resda YEARS ago for $350. Still wish I did. Could have made money.

Other than that, it's like a heavier M11/9. About as fun to shoot (not very), and slightly more ergonomic.
