Guide rod problem with Glock 21 sf

My Glock 21 sf guide rod does not stay on place on the barrel. I will put it on the barrel correctly, rack it a few times, carefully disassemble, and the guide rod will be just barely hanging on to the barrel.

It shoots fine, for now, but I am worried it might be a problem.
I dreamed of owning a (insert off roster gun here)...

Oh yeah....then the earth splits open with me on one side and the (off roster gun) on the other. Then appeared a large red-glowing pit with gavin newscum, diane frankenstein and governor "brown the drain" at the bottom of it, waving their pitchforks at me.

Factory recoil spring assembly or is it an aftermarket 2 piece system?

Normal. When I remove the slide on my 21SF, the factory recoil spring assembly is barely hanging on as well. Nothing to worry about.

The guide rod does not touch the barrel in opperation. It is between the frame and the slide. Notice how the barrel can rattle about freely when the slide is locked back? Where the guide rod is when assembled or dissasembled means nothing as long as it cango together correctly.

Thanks calgunners, I can shoot again with confidence. I was worried because my newer G19 was not have the same problem.

The bottom line is how does it shoot? Fire off 500 to a 1000 rounds and report back.

I've done about 750, but not quite a thousand yet. Shoots fine.

All my Glocks do the same thing (G21SF, G30SF, G17, G19). It's perfectly normal.

The guide rod on my Glock 21 did the same thing after around 4500 rounds. After replacing the spring, it stays in place.
