OP, I wouldn't get too hung up on it being off-roster unless you think you might want to sell it later (higher resale in CA). Off roster doesn't always equate to better choice for your needs.

why not the Sig Sauer SP2022?

for about 500 bucks, and you get a nice DA/SA pistol with sig quality. Only draw back you dont' have much aftermarket part to deal with, but then again, the pistol is nice enough you don't need much aftermarket upgrade anyways

Ok, serious question, what makes the Vickers G17 with RTF2 so special? Aside from color, sights, frame texture, grip plug, and extended mag release, is there anything else that is tuned?

The textured frame, specific serial # and exclusive color! Makes it shoot way better!

Honestly all the vickers parts can be bought for cheap but I like the exclusivity of the fde coloring and the frame feels really nice.

Understood. I was just curious. I do have a Glock 22 with RTF2 and I will admit, it does feel nicer than a regular Glock.

If you can go off-roster, get a Shadow 2. Anything plastic is not going to have a trigger nearly as nice.

Or get a real Open gun.

I really want a fde vickers glock 17 because I love glocks.

I can basically buy whatever I want for free state prices in the 700 range. Debating on what to get but I am a glock fanboy to a degree...

...Also if I was going to get a 17 it would be the FDE vickers

I think you should go with the Vickers G-17. Sounds like you really like this one. The best advice is to go with the one YOU want.

Go shoot 'em. Rent a few at ranges, have friends let you borrow & shoot theirs.

I got my wife an FMK 9mm with the bill of rights engraved on the side. She shoots it dead-eye and likes the trigger pull/grip just fine.
