My Latest Craving. Would like input.

I've been wanting something a little different than just the newest generation polymer wonder gun.

I've been looking around for a 10mm 1911. But more specifically, is like a commander cbob model. Any thoughts? Any idea who would have a good quality one? I'm not afraid to spend some money on it as I will likely be carrying it.

Roster is not a problem. I'm not saying that to rub it in, just didn't want to limit suggestions.

That's nice but the point of going with the commander cbob is to be smaller and a little lighter. Although nice, that gun is a little big

I think Dan Wesson used to make a 10mm CBOB. Might be able to find a good used example for purchase.

                They take credit cards.

I bought a CBOB about 10 years back and it's a terrific gun. Very spartan, well made and fitted. Mine's of course in 45 ACP and at the time was about $900.00. I don't know if the price tag of this one is based on scarcity, can't imagine that the quality is 2.5X an ACP version.

Why would you want 10mm with anything less than a 6" barrel?

I have to say that a 10mm 1911 would be a lot more usefull than the old COP .357, a lot better on your wrist also.

That is unless you really like that muzzle flash.

Because America. I'm well aware that a 4.25 inch barrel will reduce its ballistics

I have Kimber in 10mm and a Smith "no dash" 610 with a 6" lugged barrel, have shot a few shorty 10mm pistols too. The 10mm doesn't seem any worse on recoil than a 45 ACP. Maybe a bit more muzzle blast, but sending a lighter bullet downrange faster than the 45 sends a heavier bullet - not enough of a difference for me to notice on the trigger pulling side of the equation.

I have a 3" Bond Derringer with ACP barrel and a 10mm, neither is fun for more than a handful of rounds. Then again they're pvssycats compared to 3" 410 slugs or buckshot.

                            No, I didn't accidentally misspell *****cats ....

Have you take a look at TALO Colts 1911, if you can find one.
