Sig sent me a shipping label. I just packed up everything in the original container and shipping box, dropped it off at FedEx, and waited 2 weeks.

Sig was really fast with it because I bought it directly from Sig, not a retail store.

I've got a sig 22 conversion kit for my p229. I don't get light strikes with any ammo, but I find that it needs relatively hot ammo to cycle properly. Aguilla super extra works well.

Now that I think about it, the conversion slide was in a plastic bag when it arrived. It was immersed in oil. Some oil might have gotten into the firing pin channel. I will continue to "break in" the kit.

Good to hear Aguila works. I hope I have the right type as there are literally dozens of 22LR ammo from Aguila.

I've got an AA kit for my G19. Works great when I feed it it's favorite ammo. I've got probably around 2500 rounds through it by now. The only thing it shoots reliably now is Remington Golden Bullets (shoots about 70% of the CCI mini-mags, about 10% of the Federal Automatch, and about 50% of the American Eagle I feed it - I can't get anything else to cycle). Remington might be dirty, but it's cheap, so I don't complain.

Of course my Marlin 60 only shoots CCI mini-mags now. I swear I own the most picky guns on the planet! Of course my S&W 617 makes up for it by firing anything and everything I feed it!

Oh hell no. Anyone saying don't worry about it is full of crap. If its used then cool. Discounted, maybe. New as in BRAND NEW at full mark up with that is unsat. I'm glad Sig is going to make it right. Lord knows they don't need more bad press.

Surprised to hear the g19 22 conversion doesn't shoot CCI 100%...

I went to the range last Friday and tested Aguila and Armscor ammo. To my surprise, Aguila doesn't work that well. They need double strike about 80% of the time. Some of them failed to cycle with failure to load issue.

Armscor....FANTASTIC!!! Most of them worked without any problems. No double strike, no failure to load, no failure to eject. This is the most dependable 22LR I've tried in multiple picky guns.

I have a Beretta 948 and my friend has a Llama 1911 style 22LR from the 1970s. These 2 guns don't like anything else but Armscor.

I think I will order a good supply of Armscor 22LR before the end of the year.

I will also try a few other types of 22LR like CCI minimag, just to see what happens.

For some unknown reason, my dedicated 1911 with a 19# mainspring and a Ciener 1992 .22 top end will run with everything from Rem Subsonics to CCI Mini-Mags. No light strikes ever, but it is a 1911 built from a stripped carbon steel frame and parts from SARCO, Numrich, Wolff, and Hogue, and carefully massaged during the build.

And that is with a full 15 round metal mag, but then, I live in a semi-free state...

To the OP: is the mag steel or polymer? If polymer, that may be the problem.

The magazines are polymer. It's the only type available.

                          It's an old (2009) thread but see posts #11, #16, and #19.

Hope this helps, sir. I don't think you are the only one that has experienced this, and I really believe it is a mag problem.

I can't believe that Sig has not produced a steel or aluminum mag for this application in the intervening years. My Ciener 15 round mag from 1992 is aluminum and has functioned flawlessly for 25 years.

                          Good luck, sir, sincerely!

A strange thing happened today. I went to the range to continue my test of the P220 conversion kit. For whatever the reason I decided to load 8 or 9 rounds per magazine, rather than the full capacity of 10. Surprisingly the gun worked just fine! I used Federal bulk ammo which it hated the last time. Most of them cycled correctly with a few light strikes. Then I moved to Remington Golden Turds and they worked better than before, but not as well as Federal.

I did not try loading the mags to capacity as a control. I should have just for comparison.

If the fix is as easy as not loading to full capacity, I can live with this kit.

Unless there has been a change in the last few years, SIG used to recommend that you feed the .22lr conversion kits with CCI Minimags. I had several thousand rounds on hand and it fed it great, even with mags loaded to full capacity...never a bobble right out of the box. This was with both a 226 and a 220ST

Downloading the magazine by a couple of rounds allowing it to work better doesn't surprise me...are you sure these mags were intended to be loaded to 10 rounds? The drag of the bullet on the underside of the slide can often slow down the slide just enough when using less powerful ammo
