    New G19

Overall i'm impressed except for my shooting. No target pics but everything goes left , straight line nothing low or high ? I'm thinking it's my grip since I really haven't done handguns on a regular basis in like 25 yrs. Did get a lot in the bull as well though. ETA: 7-15 yds distance

Approx 140 rds on Weds , palm was hurting so I grabbed this grip and will try again this weekend maybe if I can get away. I own shotguns and a Buckmark so I guess I have to find the right grip for this handgun ? And maybe if still sighting issues I may add new sights of some type. Researching those lol.

It took me maybe 200-300 rounds before I figured out the "glock grip". I consistently shot low, left. It has to do with the grip hump on the back. It's not necessarily the gun itself, but with the way your hand interacts with the gun--especially when pulling the trigger. Dry fire like crazy until you see what you are doing wrong when pulling back on the trigger. Try moving your trigger finger position deeper or shallower and see if the results change.

Try firing strong hand ONLY or weak hand ONLY and your shot groupings will (ironically) improve.

I strongly recommend taking off the grip sleeve. They are notorious for sliding around and covering the mag release resulting in a stuck mag you cannot eject. God forbid that happens in a SD scenario when you need a 12th bullet to put down a bad guy.

Whenever you get a new handgun, run yourself through Dot Torture Drills @ 3yards until you get a perfect 50, then increase the distance.

Don't grip the gun so hard. I'm strong hand right, and I used to use a two handed death grip and shot low left. I was taught to relax the grip and everything centered up. And ditch the sleeve. It's only a hand gun. It's not going to jump from your hands. GLOCK does pretty good with their stock grip.

I shoot left, usually low/left with almost every new gun I get and the G19 was as big a culprit as any. I quit screwing with the silly charts and asking for advice, because after a couple boxes they all come to center and once they do it's never an issue again. I can't be the only one that experiences this...

I suspect this is the answer, and after a hundred rounds or two I just naturally start to relax.

Thanks EVERYONE , I was a little bummed about my shooting skills. I have no issues with the .22 and well shotguns are shotguns lol. I shoot my buddies 45 too and can hit the target fairly well.

When I felt the palm pain/bruised feeling I knew right away death gripping too tight but for the life of me I couldn't understand why I couldn't center anything consistently. I will ditch the grip but after I try it , $8 so what the heck. Thanks again guys.

How can you be impressed with your Glock 19, when your palm hurts after only 140 rounds. That just tells me it doesn't fit your hand or you are not gripping the gun correctly.

Go shoot a CZ SP-01 and you will realize what comfort and ease of shooting is all about. Don't believe everything you read about the all mighty do everything Glock 19.

Talon adhesive grips work well for me on my Glocks, and don't move around.

                      Congrats OP!

You could also shoot 147gr ammo that's a pretty soft shooter - though sometimes more expensive than 115gr. I used to get 147 round nose by the case from Freedom munitions, only a few bucks more than the 115.

                      Safe shooting!

I'm easily impressed ? Fit and finish , ease of use and breakdown , fired all grains (115,124,135) tested with no issues. Still need to get some 147 grain but overall impressed except for the palm pain which after some answers here and some internet searching i've come to the conclusion that i'm squeezing too hard which I won't do next trip. Hope this helps ?

You need a firm grip with a Glock otherwise you might limp wrist and have FTE.

I know what's wrong. You didn't buy it in OD Green, they shoot straighter! seriously, I just did some dry firing in between the time at the range and it helped tremendously.
I dreamed of owning a (insert off roster gun here)...

Oh yeah....then the earth splits open with me on one side and the (off roster gun) on the other. Then appeared a large red-glowing pit with gavin newscum, diane frankenstein and governor "brown the drain" at the bottom of it, waving their pitchforks at me.

Been doing that and may have found a better grip , won't know until it goes bang though. Prob tomorrow if not during the week then.
