    PPT - Glock Lower/Frames

    Can anyone clarify if it's possible to buy/sell just a Glock lower/frame (with internal parts), or possibly a stripped Glock lower/frame? Looked, but didn't see any advertised on CalGuns.

    It's clearly the serialized portion of the handgun, but not sure it's doable or more specifically if an FFL would have a problem processing the PPT without the upper (slide, barrel and recoil spring) or magazine. Has anyone done this or had any problems? Thanks

    It's doable depending on the ffl and the buyer. Most ffl's require the safe handling demonstration which is impossible without a complete firearm. But ccw holders are exempt from that part of buying as are law enforcement.

      You have two issues;

      safety/handling demonstration will need to be performed.

      said FFL may be audited while your frame is in "jail". How can the FFL prove that the recipient will be able to perform said demonstration as noted above?

      Glocks are cheap enough that one should have several laying around, at the very least a slide or two. Just take one along with you.

        An FFL can perform safe handling on a similar firearm. It's what is supposed to be done on AR lowers.

            The 3 posts above you summed it up... no need to bump again.

            I will add that the only way you will get a frame in CA is PPT, if you're LEO, or you have a good FFL that understands the laws. Best bet is to call your local FFLs and ask how they can complete this for you
