    Alpha Wolf barrel.

Hi everybuddy, so I just received my Alpha Wolf barrel from Brownwells today that I ordered for my glock 17 but the tolerance are so tight in a good way that I can't seem to rack the slide. Question is what lube do you guys recommend to break it in?

You can't rack the slide at all or when you rack the slide it's tight?

Put some rounds down range and see if it fixes itself.

      That doesn't sound right.

I have an alpha wolf barrel, and fit and function feels no different then an OEM glock barrel. Racks just like a stock gun.

Powder_Keg, yeah it doesn't rack at all but a friend just told me to put some rounds thru the stock barrel to get the slide hot then install the alpha wolf barrel and rack it while the slide is hot I guessed.

Could always try lapping compound to smooth out where tolerances are too tight.

That being said, you shouldn't have to do anything other than drop the barrel in and start using right away.

Also, it's going to take a good amount of Ammo fired fairly quickly back to back to get mitre than the first 2-3" of the slide warm enough to make a difference. You would have to be looking at a heat gun or oven to get the chamber portion hot enough to expand enough.

Nope. You shouldn't have to pre heat the slide like that to make the Alpha Wolf barrel fit. The tolerances are tight, but not so much that it doesn't function.

              Got pics?

Sounds like you can still take down the slide if you are thinking about re-installing the stock barrel. Check the fit before doing anything else.

My Alpha Wolf dropped right in and I have not experienced any problems at all.
