    G19 $?

Saw a NIB OD green G19 at a store. Price tag was 549.
Also a slightly used (LNIB) black G19 with Night sights for 499.

Both are Gen 3 and come with 2 mags, mag loader, brush and cable lock.

I like the OD but the black one is cheaper plus the 3-dot nights.

which should I pick and is the price good?

Oh, on the black one, the barrel hood moves a little when I pressed on it. Bad?

    thanks

I am looking for a g19 too but in OD. Is there a price different between the two? Still waiting for Tuners to have them on sale.

I guess I'll be the descenting opinion here. I would go with the NIB for the extra $50. In the long run you won't really notice the $50 and that money bought you a new as opposed to a like new gun.

If you cant see your sights, you cant see your target.

Are night sights really a benifit to you? I personally dont spend money on night sights, although I sell ALOT of guns with them.

I think that I've bought all of 3 guns new (out of slightly less than 100). Used guns go bang, too.

A Glock, really needs a lot of abuse to make it not worth buying used.

                Go 499.

                      What about Top Glock?

Price for new OD (or black) G19 is $459.00. You'd have to pay shipping and transfer fees, but not sales tax.

As to the night sight debate, when I had 3 dot night sights I found them distracting in most conditions, and only marginally useful in dusk/dawn type lighting. I can see plain black sights fine in that kind of lighting anyway. I do have a single front night sight a couple pistols, I don't mind that set up but when all is said and done I think plain black sights, with a serrated front sight, are my favorite.

how slight? a small amount of movement is normal, unless it's a tight Glock. It shouldn't wiggle around loosely though. There's a thread on glocktalk.com about buying a used g17 w/ same Q.

just a little. If I remember right, the new one didn't have that.

i should say, i dont own one, yet (G35 soon though), so checked on my friends 1st gen G21.
im doing a thorough detailing on it for him, and im very familiar with it's history. has about 6000-7500 rds through it (1500 or so from me), and it moves a VERY small amount, you can press down on the slide just behind the front sight and it goes down a tiny bit. it doesn't move left/right very much either, but there is a little bit of movement. Now, "small", "tiny" and "bit" is subjective, so im talking like 1mm of movement.

i highly suggest you asking in a dedicated Glock forum, you'll get more experienced answers than mine.

California passed a law some time ago that requires you to pay sales tax on things you buy out-of-state and import. You're supposed to report and pay it on your annual state tax return. Some FFL's will collect it when doing the transfer.
