    Shooters ... true?

Just shot second uspsa. Totally charged. Decided to watch some shooting movies. Shooter came up before Clint Eastwood. Personally I prefer Clint eastwoods westerns.

    So...

Slow is smooth. Smooth is fast.

    True?

    Next question ...

    Best shooter movie?

Outlaw josi wales? Love when dean wormer starts insulting the confederates just before the gat comes out.

Michael Mann usually does a great job.

I do like the final big shootout in "Way of the gun".

Slow is slow. Smooth is fast until you get to A class where you plan your turn, and which foot to step first to get into that next shooting box/spot ready to shoot. Look at the GMs their moves are precise and deliberate. Moving fast, no wasted movement.

Lots of good 'shoot em up movies' , but this made me want to own 1911's
Remake of Pnisher and the custom 1911's are amazing, wish they could exist in real life.

However, my vote for efficient handgun operator movie goes to Collateral, and the "Yo homie" scene is textbook.

                      That's a big negatory there.

One might say it was a remake of A Fistful of Dollars, which is not really correct because both were rip-offs remakes of Yojimbo, in the same vein as The Magnificent Seven and The Seven Samurai, and there are others I can't remember. There's a reason film critics call these kinds of movies (Shane, Mad Max, etc.) "wandering samurai" movies.

Yep, lots of blood & suffering & cruelty. It's a good movie to show someone like a youngster who thinks gunplay is glamorous. People get shot and take their sweet time dying in pools of blood. But also a good example of what the reality of gunfights probably was in the old West: Powder-burn distances indoors over money and hate, nasty brutal and short, as opposed to your High Noon, Once Upon A Time In The West kind of deal.

Once upon a time In the west was an amazing movie though. None of the old westerns depicted gu play accurately. They were fun moral movies though and showed the measure of what it means to be a man. In general. I could watch any of the old Sergio leone movies again and again and again.
