Need so help with a question. If I purchase a handgun from a person in SoCal and he uses his FFL to ship to my local FFL is it a 10 day wait or 30?

1 DROS can be submitted every 30 days for a new handgun purchase. That handgun can be picked up 10 days after submission.

Both, the 10 day wait and the 1 in 30 day wait applies to this because the firearm was shipped.
In addition, because the handgun is being shipped, the handgun needs to be listed on the Roster of Handguns Certified for Sale or be exempt from it (C&R, LEO sale, OTP, SAE, SSE2).

The 1 in 30 day wait applies to all handguns transferred from a CA FFL dealer [PC 27535(a)].
However, there is a PPT exemption to this [PC 27535(b)(8)].

Under CA laws/regulations...
PPT = face-to-face transfer between CA residents facilitated by a CA FFL dealer.
^If one of the of the parties involved is not a CA resident, then it is not a PPT.
^If the firearm is shipped, then it is not a PPT.




Penal Code 27535
(a) No person shall make an application to purchase more than one handgun within any 30-day period.
(b) Subdivision (a) shall not apply to any of the following:
(8) Any transaction conducted through a licensed firearms dealer pursuant to Chapter 5 (commencing with Section 28050).
