Building first AR (Pistol) - few questions

I own 2 AR's - LWRC and Colt 6920 but I want to build an AR in 300BLK - I have heard that piston systems of that length aren't the most reliable. I plan on getting a stripped lower and using these parts:

Adams Arms AR-15 Pistol PDW Tactical Elite A3 7.5" Gas Piston Upper
Thordsen Customs AR Standard Pistol Cheek Rest Kit W/MFT Saddle
    LAW Tactical Folding Stock Adapter
    Daniel Defense Lower Parts Kit
Troy Industries Micro Set HK Front and Round Rear Sights

I know I need a 7.5" barrel to run 300BLK - does anyone have any recommendations? Has anyone used any of the parts mentioned above/have any experience with them?

What are my options in terms of pistol lowers, I was going to find one used here on the classifieds or build one myself.

First, I seriously recommend reading this thread - http://www.calguns.net/calgunforum/s....php?t=1292129

AR pistols are a headache with the new 2017 laws, so just keep that in mind. If you're going to build off a stripped lower, I recommend buying a pistol registered lower from classifieds, as there's a lot of work to be done if you're building off an 80% lower, again read the thread posted.

Others can chime in on your upper choice, I'm against piston AR's.

Don't need a piston with a pistol. You will need an adjustable gas block. Then they are easy to tune. As to the laws, I'll let the lawyers here take that one.

Just don't ask if you need a bullet button.

You're a bit late to the party now. Make sure you read all the threads about building these things. There's a lot of conditions that need to be followed in order to stay legal

Even if you made it to the party on time, there's no purpose served by a gas piston on a single-shot pistol.
If you build a man a fire, you'll keep him warm for the evening. If you set a man on fire, you'll keep him warm for the rest of his life.

I am not in nor from Kalifornia, and do not pretend to understand that state's arcane gun laws.

Quoting the gentleman above, if all that is allowed in an AR-15 pistol is a single shot, it sure seems like a lot of money spent for that purpose.

It would be easier and cheaper just to buy a TC Contender, with an additional .300 AAC Blackout barrel from these guys:

Upgrade your TC Contender, G2 Contender, and Encore Pro Hunter with premium barrels, stocks, scope mounts, and accessories from EABCO - precision-crafted for accuracy, reliability, and performance.

Good luck with your project, OP.
