First ever uspsa! Gopher flats! Woohoo!

    First USPSA!

Was at gopher flats. Thanks dave M and Jerry T for a great first time ever! Hit index was between 2 and 3 I think overall (or whatever that score is). Had a bunch of failure to feed because I ride the slide with my weak hand which normally isn't a problem in 45 but was a problem with my 9.

    Boy was it hot!

The guys were very friendly. The squad was great. Lots of fun. Met taran butler too. Nice guy.

I'll upload video if I can figure out how.

Krb, just learned how to do the other day thanks to a fellow Calgunner. copy the information after the equal sign on the link, paste it then highlight it and hit the youtube button at the top right. That should do it.

Hi. I finally figured it out!
Hit the youtube link, paste the youtube link, but then delete the https:// part of it...
              Got it!

Congrats on not getting DQ'd at your first match..Glad to hear you had a great time! I shot my first USPSA match a few years ago and can't get a enough of the sport..

Looks like you had a good squad that was willing to give you directions and the helps the noobs a lot.

A tip for you..Break the stage down into 7-10 round string of fire and reload on the run to the next section of targets after you are done with that section..

Looks like you had a great time. Great composure under the stress of your first run! I was at a friends cookout and could barely handle the heat sitting down in the shade...kudos to you guys running and gunning in that heat.

Hope to join you guys soon for a match.

Good job getting out there. Here are a few tips for next time:

                              1) Minimize the time you are not shooting. Which means doing multiple things at the same time like reloading after every shooting position on the way to the next shooting position.

                              2) No need to lower the gun while going from one shooting position to the next shooting position. Keep the gun up (pointed down range).

                              3) Unless the next position is a couple of steps away, RUN (don't walk) to the next position with ONE hand on the gun and reacquire your grip a step or so before the next position coming up on the target as you step in to shoot.

Just by minimizing the dead time outlined above you should be able to cut out several seconds per stage.
