I've had my sights on a few limited run handgun models that are on the CA approved list. Still hunting for the right price. But wait, I see a lot of these models on the DOJ website coming up for renewal early this winter. Some of these are limited runs I expect won't be renewed again by the manufactures or distributors.
Two examples are the Smith and Wesson Lew Horton 6.5" Hunter Model 500, and the S&W 2" barreled snubby 625-10. Both from the Performance Center. Both are really cool revolvers! Both expire early this November.
Looks like I have less than 60 days to pick these up, or I risk losing the opportunity altogether.
Called the DOJ. Was told the manufacture or distributor must pay $200 for a two year extension, and despite the low cost, several models have not been renewed.
Just a heads up to all that might be in the same boat.
